This role is suited to someone who is curious, methodical, and loves solving puzzles. You'll be hands-on with a wide range of testing activities—from validating new software features to supporting automation efforts and contributing to continuous improvement. You'll collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure our software is reliable, user-friendly, and impactful.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Testing, you'll play a key role in helping ASB deliver high-quality digital experiences that make a real difference in people's lives. Whether it's helping someone buy their first home or manage their everyday finances, your work will help make banking easier, faster, and more convenient for our customers.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Testing, you will contribute to the direction of our testing practice, support automation initiatives, and help prioritise testing activities. You'll be part of a collaborative team where learning and growth are encouraged.

You will bring the following:

Experience with open source and commercial test automation tools (e.g. Specflow, C# Selenium, Appium, Java, C# in Visual Studio)

Competence in functional manual testing and non-functional testing

A practical understanding of Agile methodologies and a willingness to improve processes

Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Octopus & Azure DevOps

Experience in API automation testing

Familiarity with mobile and performance testing

Strong communication and facilitation skills

A self-driven attitude and eagerness to learn

Understanding of cloud concepts and products

Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies when needed

Passion for championing software quality assurance

Experience in conducting API Automation testing

Nice to have: Mobile Automation & Performance Testing experience
