Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology team at Clarivate. The successful candidate will be working on data engineering and ETL and script writing to build data pipelines processes for cleansing and structuring data.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of Programming Experience with Excellent knowledge of SQL.
• Good Knowledge of AWS services and relational DBs
• Experience with ETL processes and API’s.
• Experience with Unix (Linux) and common Unix tools, e.g. pattern matching, regular expressions, shell programming.
• Outstanding knowledge of XML, JSON, CSV, HTML and other textual formats. Structured and unstructured data
• Experience in system analysis and design, problem-solving, support and troubleshooting.
It would be great if you also had...
• Experience with Python, Java, or any other object-oriented programming languages.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
What will you be doing in this role?
• Involved in the analysis of textual and binary patent data. Assistance in data design, development of XML Schema and DTD.
• Working closely with Content Analysts team to design and develop mapping rules to extract data from different file formats (structured and unstructured).
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, devops, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to understand their data requirements and provide technical support.
• Monitor and analyze data processing pipelines, performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or other performance issues.
• Development of an AWS based Content Ingest and Management System
• Programming of converters and processing routines for text and image data.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time opportunity with Clarivate. + hours per day including lunch break.
