Role Overview
QT Queenstown is expanding and we are looking for talented Senior Sous Chefs and Sous Chefs to join our team.
This role will see you lead and coordinate kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality and consistency across all outlets. You’ll support the Executive Chef in managing daily production, maintaining culinary standards, and driving efficiency while mentoring the team.
This role has a minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week. We are looking for daytime, evening and weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure readiness for service.
Maintain food quality, portion control, and adherence to standard recipes.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks effectively.
Monitor stock rotation, ordering, and food cost targets to minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with WH&S and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Collaborate with F&B teams to deliver smooth restaurant and event operations.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume or luxury environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.
Creative approach to menu development and trend awareness.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
