Required Skills:
At least 5-10 years of work experience with:
• Windows, Linux, Azure Shell scripting, PowerShell and troubleshooting skills.
• We require at least one AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator
• Able to contribute through Azure Automation
Good knowledge of Azure in the following areas:
• Virtual machines
• Storages
• Networking components such as security groups, peering etc.
• Encryption / decryption
• Backups
• Patching
• Managing images
• Other cores services of AWS/Azure
As a Senior Specialist - Cloud SRE, your role involves managing and maintaining AWS infrastructure and services to ensure they are secure, scalable, and performing optimally. Here are some key tasks and responsibilities you should consider:
Lead the Customer as Primary:
• Should lead the initiatives and manage the customer account as primary point of contact and regularly meet with the customer to provide the update based on work carried out by Team.
Familiarity with assigned customers:
• Tier 3 SRE should be very familiar with all their assigned accounts to the point where they can make tactical decisions on client work.
Complex Service Requests:
• Knowledge and ability to execute complex service requests.
Coach and Train Tier 2 SRE:
• SRE should use their knowledge on their assigned clients in order to coach and train the Tier 2 SRE team on the customer as needed.
Incident Escalation Point:
• Be an escalation point for Tier 2. Instead of contacting the client or primary SRE when information is needed, the offshore Tier 3 needs to be consulted with.
Problem Management:
• Root Cause Analysis and quality checking
• Always do root cause analysis of problems to prevent future reoccurrence. Assurance of quality of work done by Tier-II as per best practice and standard operating procedures.
Incident Response:
• Develop and maintain an incident response plan to address security breaches or operational incidents.
• Coordinate with Azure Support for assistance in resolving critical issues.
• Respond to customer through phone/ email inquiries w.r.t products and perform required technical troubleshooting steps based on customer issue within the scope of support.
• Work with ticketing tools and SLA governed environment.
Monitoring and Alerts:
• Monitor the performance and health of Azure resources using Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics.
• Set up alerts and notifications for critical events and resource utilization thresholds.
Resource Provisioning and Management:
• Scale Azure resources based on workload demands to optimize cost and performance.
• Implement automation and scripting for resource deployment and management using tools like Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI.
Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce security policies and practices to protect Azure resources.
• Configure and monitor Azure Security Center for threat detection and security compliance.
• Manage access control using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
• Set up regular backups of critical data.
• Implement disaster recovery plans and test them to ensure data and services can be restored in case of failure.
Cost Management:
• Monitor and control Azure spending by setting budgets, analyzing usage, and implementing cost-saving measures.
Networking:
• Configure and manage virtual networks, VPNs, and ExpressRoute connections.
• Ensure network connectivity and security.
Documentation and Training:
• Maintain documentation for Azure configurations and procedures.
• Stay updated on Azure services and best practices through continuous learning and training.
Automation and Scripting:
• Use Azure Automation cloud-based Services to reduce manual intervention.
• Implement automation scripts and workflows using AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions OR Azure function for Azure.
Compliance and Auditing:
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulation.
• Generate reports and audits for compliance purposes.
Collaboration:
• Collaborate with customer development teams to understand application requirements and provide infrastructure support.
Certification:
• AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator
Nice to have:
• Writing scripts / use tools to automate the deployments and infrastructure performance monitoring.
• Good knowledge on ITIL framework or Agile Methodologies, certification would be an added advantage
