CAD Modeler/Designer
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards. They will ensure all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time, and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
Key Responsibilities
Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
Perform self-verification of work.
Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented
Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
Acting effectively as Discipline SQEP (Suitably qualified and experienced personnel).
Requirements
Nationally recognized qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
Proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
Experience in Design working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages) or similar.
Salary
£45,000 - £60,000 per annum
