Job Description
Delivering high quality and innovative structural designs and documentation for building structures with medium to large complexity, such as architecturally designed houses, estate development of units/townhouses, and associated facilities such as community centres, gymnasiums etc, with potential opportunities to be involved in multi-level building structures and light commercial buildings.
Running projects from concept design to construction within budget and delivery time frame, with supports from experienced and collaborative BE teams.
Assist in client management with existing clients and other relevant project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
Assist in developing graduate/junior engineers within team in alignment with company goals, procedures and strategy.
Cultivating a sense of client focus on your team's everyday approach to their work, in particular with a sense of responsiveness, delivery on time, and professionalism.
About You
You will bring strong technical capability, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in mentoring others. You will have:
A Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
5+ years’ post-graduate structural design experience, ideally within the residential or low-rise building sector.
Demonstrated experience in the design of residential and low-rise structures.
Solid experience designing with timber, reinforced concrete and steel structures, including waffle and raft slabs, suspended slabs, and retaining walls.
Proficiency with structural design software such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass and Toolkit (Inducta and RAPT advantageous).
Strong ability to interpret and apply Australian Standards and the NCC, including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600 and AS4100.
Well-developed communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and project stakeholders.
Working towards state registration and/or chartership (e.g. CPEng), with Intrax actively supporting you through the chartership process via mentorship, guidance and professional development.
