Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. Within IB&M technology our mission is to combine the next generation of technology, with leading banking and markets capabilities to help our clients succeed. We’re building empowered and autonomous engineering teams that are product focused and responsible for end-end delivery.

The role of Senior Platform Engineer is to design, build, run, and evolve tools, infrastructure, templates, and capabilities for the Murex platform that our other engineers use to deliver business value, and to write code that automates running our infrastructure and environments.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

Collaboratively work with customer-facing product engineers to design, build, and run platforms that they can use to deliver customer value at greater quality, velocity, and safety.

Write software and tooling that automates the operations of our platforms, infrastructure, environments, and tooling.

Create a standardized set of tooling for deploying and running applications and setting them up with best practices.

Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure that it is reliable, secure, and scalable.

Make all platforms entirely self-service, secure, and available within minutes without human approval.

Write software to ensure that all deployment and operations are as automated as possible, using languages such as Python and Go, and automate the implementation of controls into our platforms.

Participate in cross-group activities to build a culture of one team, bar-raising both our engineering capability and our technology solutions to drive our strategy.

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, methodologies, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these key technology skills will set you up for success in this team

Strong knowledge of Credit Risk and experience in configuring Credit Risk Engine.

Good knowledge in programming languages such as Python and Go.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins

Murex Related:

In-depth knowledge of the Murex platform, including its architecture, modules, and functionalities.

Experience in configuring and customizing Murex to meet specific business requirements.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Murex platform performance and functionality.

Familiarity with Murex integration with other systems and platforms.

Understanding of Murex data models and the ability to work with Murex data for reporting and analysis.

Experience in automating Murex processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
