About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join an Agile software delivery team responsible for the design, development, and integration of enterprise-grade web and API solutions. This role plays a key part in enabling the successful deployment of modern technology platforms through strategic systems engineering, technical leadership, and delivery execution.

This project focuses on modernizing and extending existing systems by adding new features, implementing architectural enhancements, and resolving complex defects. You will contribute to advancing a DevOps culture, applying customer-centered design practices, and supporting agile transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the end-to-end systems engineering process from requirements analysis through solution delivery.

Design and implement integrated IT solutions across backend, frontend, and middleware systems.

Evaluate and improve existing system architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

Collaborate with development teams on software design and solution architecture.

Contribute to technical planning, architecture reviews, and documentation aligned with best practices and governance standards.

Provide mentorship to developers and engineers to ensure consistency in engineering practices.

Apply Agile methodologies to support rapid iteration, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Participate in DevOps and CI/CD process design and optimization.

Ensure alignment with industry architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, CoBiT, or eTOM.

Requirements

Proven experience in systems engineering, IT architecture, or enterprise solution design in large-scale environments.

Demonstrated ability to deliver software and system solutions both independently and within cross-functional teams.

Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following:

Backend Technologies: Java, J2EE, Quarkus, Spring Boot, XML, SOAP, RESTful Web Services, Spring MVC, Microservices, Swagger, Multithreading

Frontend/Integration: ReactJS, JavaScript, NodeJS, Web Services

API Development: Experience with RESTful API design, especially leveraging TMF Open API suite

Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based architectures.

Hands-on experience with Agile project tools including Jira and Confluence

Exposure to architecture and delivery frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, eTOM, CoBiT is required.

SAFe Certification or Agile training is considered a strong asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Working Conditions:

Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend

Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
