Qualifications
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting; or 3-5 years in an accountant role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong computer skills
Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
Detail oriented
Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear
The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities
Regularly execute both predicted and ad-hoc project-oriented assignments
Review and coach the work of other tax accountants in the department
Reconcile, verify, and review monthly sales and use tax returns
Become the resident expert on sales and use tax law and exemption certificate requirements
Research federal, state, and local laws and regulations and proactively monitor legislative changes
Address state and federal tax notices and tax audits with various external auditors, tax advisors, and governmental agencies
Provide support for the preparation of the federal and state corporate income tax returns
Prepare the federal and state income tax estimated tax payments and extensions
Gather and prepare documentation related to the company's income tax provision
Prepare journal entries related to tax as a part of month end close
Manage all property tax payments and serve as primary contact for property tax matters
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms

The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for many different aspects of corporate accounting including tax, financial reporting, technical research, and cash-flow analysis

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting; or 3-5 years in an accountant role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of general accounting, ad valorem tax knowledge is a plus.
• Strong computer skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
