Senior Tax Accountant

Full job description

We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing CPA firm. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of federal and state income tax returns for our small business and individual clients. You will work closely with our team and be a key point of contact for clients, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation & Review: Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and C-corporations.

Client Communication: Proactively communicate with clients to gather necessary information, answer questions, and provide status updates throughout the tax season.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with junior and senior staff on tax projects, including tax planning and year-end accounting clean-up.

Problem-Solving: Research and resolve complex tax issues and discrepancies.

Compliance: Stay up-to-date on new tax laws and regulations to ensure all filings are compliant.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred.

3+ years of experience preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns.

Proficiency with tax software, including Proconnect (and/or other common programs like Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
