Job Summary:
The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax reporting and compliance within the organization. This includes preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, researching tax issues, and providing guidance on tax-related matters to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for the organization.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax issues and strategies.
• Assist with tax planning and strategy development to minimize tax liabilities.
• Manage tax audits and correspond with tax authorities.
• Maintain and update tax records and documentation.
• Prepare tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
• Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax staff.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
