Senior Technical Claims Specialist
6 month fixed term contract
The opportunity
This role will see you managing commercial motor vehicle claims for our agency partners Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co. It will involve the coordination of all aspects of motor vehicle claims including the repairs to the customer vehicle, liaising with various party’s such as the client broker, agents, motor vehicle repairers, motor assessors and third party customers.

Your new role
Maintain and manage claims from start to end process utilising current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy conditions
Setting reserves and authorising payment within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements
Claims settled within agreed timeframe with no policy breaches
Handling inbound calls and managing good client relationships with the insured, agents, service providers and the general public
Respond to client requests in accordance with service standards
Provide information and feedback on claims activity and developing trends to underwriters/risk assessors to enable appropriate actions to be carried out
Clear and timely communication with all stakeholders
Enquiries responded to within agreed time frames
About you
Solid motor claims experience
A highly empathetic customer approach and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour when processing claims
An engaging and courteous phone manner with the ability to type and talk concurrently
The ability to build rapport and provide timely solutions and recommendations with diverse customers
Have strong literacy and verbal communication skills
The ability to work in a team environment
Resilience with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Strong computer and numeracy skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly
Previous experience in customer service, administration and/or operational roles
An understanding of general insurance and relevant industry legislation and/or previous experience within insurance, claims and industry related roles is highly advantageous but not mandatory for all areas
