Your Role and Responsibilities
Use technical expertise to develop options and solutions to specific problems that are technical in nature, and which are typically well defined and understood.
Participate in incident, problem, change, release, configuration, capacity management and service improvement activities, acting as lead technical SME where appropriate.
Execution of technical tasks including Oracle Enterprise Manager/http server installation and configuration, domain creation, support application deployment teams with first time Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration to meet application requirements, parameter tuning, troubleshooting/debug activities during incident triage/problem resolution activities, Oracle Enterprise Manager service start-up / shutdown, testing and verification activities during incident/change/release activities.
Provide and deal appropriately with incidents that are raised/escalated after hours, participate in a 24x7 on-call support roster.
Participate in afterhours changes/releases, and quarterly patching.
Provide day-to-day technical support within the ‘business as usual environment.
Work on projects as required and assist application support/deployment teams with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Provide technical assistance to the design, implementation, support, and administration of computer system solutions, documenting technical solutions and proposals for internal transformation projects.
Execute tasks associated with the discipline, so as to maintain the integrity and quality of the operating environment.
Performs assignments that result in original ideas and concepts that lead to new practices, procedures, and process.
Perform technical solution review and risk assessment as part of KYNDRYL’s QA process.
Provide and demonstrate leadership skills to manage situations, ensuring customer focus and that processes/procedures are followed.
Keep appraised of forthcoming industry developments that may impact or benefit the business. Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Works effectively with other team members. Guides and influences team members, including customer, vendor, and subcontractor personnel, and KYNDRYLs from other functional areas, to accomplish the team's technical and business objectives.
Negotiates effectively with team members (vendors, subcontractors, customers and Kyndryl SMEs from other functional areas) to define the team's role in developing and implementing the technical solution, including tasks and approaches for producing the solution.
Use and recommend implementation improvements to methodologies, standards, and guidelines. Participate in DR test planning and execution every 6 months.
Participate in ongoing environment upgrade (“patching”) activities (production and non-production).
Regular health checks and routine maintenance activities.
Support regular application releases as implementers.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Has the professional knowledge within their technical specialty to support the attainment of team and department/function objectives through the use of existing or new tools and process.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager 10G, 11G 12G & 13 R2 product capability and hands on experience leading installation, configuration and troubleshooting tasks.
Ability to build reporting dashboards using the Apex product or utilize OEM connectors to interface to other system management repositories desirable.
Knowledge of other related Oracle web products i.e., Oracle Virtual Manager, Oracle Database, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Linux, WebLogic, Apache http server, Apex and interaction/integration between these Oracle products and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Develops and presents technical solutions to the internal client.
High degree of analytical ability and creativity to solve complex problems.
Broad exposure to a variety of other technologies (e.g., Middleware, Intel, Database, Oracle products deployed in TfNSW’s NextGen technology stack) with a firm understanding of the interdependencies between those technologies and the role area of expertise.
Knowledge of the banking/finance industry.
Proven experience working in fast-paced, dynamic IT environments with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
Sound knowledge of relevant current and emerging technologies.
Experience in Business-as-Usual environments with a 24x7 on-call support requirement.
Familiar with the ITIL v3/v4 framework processes as well as typical operational policies and BAU best practice.
Strong customer service-oriented attitude supported by excellent communication, relationship building and expectation management skills.
Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills to ensure problems and incidents are resolved in a timely and structured manner.
Process oriented with a strong attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Lead a small team of OEM Subject Matter Experts.
Provide coaching and guidance to Technical Specialists to support their competency development and ensure their effective contribution to team objectives.
Investigate designated problems and recommend technically sound options to adapt generic hardware and software to new developmental and operating requirements.
Follow the defined processes and procedures and encourage colleagues to use these processes.
Provide professional and ethical behaviour in your actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.
Plans, organises, and designs solutions with new advanced technologies.
Provides direction and assistance to others on important issues that typically requires negotiation skills or a need to influence others on an ongoing basis.
Understands department/function mission and applies this understanding to achieve objectives. Influences people outside immediate department, through work with customers, vendors and subcontractors and presentations to KYNDRYL and customer management.
