The role
As part of our System Delivery Group, the Senior Technical Writer is responsible for developing a range of technical documentation (print and online) and the supporting/mentoring of Technical Writing team members Further, the successful candidate will:
Lead the development of Operator and Maintenance technical manuals
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and deliver customer requirements
Review, interpret and consolidate complex information into accessible documentation
Provide guidance, mentoring and training to Technical Writers
Review, interpret and categorise information to determine relevancy and appropriateness for inclusion
Maintain document templates, standards and quality controls to ensure consistency across all publications
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, * day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent on the job experience
Experience in Defence industry and its logistics practices and standards
Minimum 5 years’ of Technical Writing experience in manufacturing, technology, engineering, electrical or Defence industries.
Proven writing skills with the ability to write in plain English.
Proven communication skills with the ability to form positive working relationships with stakeholders.
Experience with developing and editing large and/or complex documents to an advanced level in S1000D, Microsoft Word and/or Adobe FrameMaker.
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
