Job Description
The Senior Technical Writer will prepare documents for Release Packages
and act as a resource for validation documentation.
DESCRIPTION
Deliver professional quality deliverables on time and in budget
Work directly with Support Services, Development, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to gather
content
Organize material to create outlines and drafts
Write new content, edit existing content, and provide peer reviews for other writers on the team; match
defined editorial standards
Prepare Product Release and related documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle as well
as User Manuals
Prepare any additional technical documentation as requested (ex. API documents, Job Aids, etc.)
Work well with team members on the development and publications teams, and possibly others
Contribute to team knowledge and resources such as glossaries and processes
Provide estimates and status updates
Proactively address or communicate challenges, concerns, and process improvements
Support system testing for each deployment by writing test scripts.
Finalize software release documentation
Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor
REQUIRED SKILLS
Proven ability to plan and implement content development projects from start to finish
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Operating knowledge of essential tools, such as the Microsoft Office suite, Test Rail, and JIRA
Ability to work well with engineers and programmers, find information sources, and quickly understand
complex technical subjects
Solid experience with at least one content development toolset used in a professional publication
development environment
Ability to work independently and with teams
