Position overview:
Aptos is looking for creative and passionate people to join the Technical Writing team to develop and maintain customer-facing content that serves a growing community of retailers, partners and developers.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Write technical documentation, including feature overviews, how-to guides, user guides, and API references.
• Validating information working with cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy and quality standards.
• Define documentation requirements and work with Product Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Architects to create and update external documentation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of5 years of technical writing and end-user documentation experience
• Bachelor's degree in English, Computer Science, Journalism, or Communications
• Experience producing technical documentation and communication regarding complex enterprise software, operating systems, hardware, mobile applications, and processes
• Prior experience in documenting REST APIs
• Explain complex technologies in useful ways for the target audience.
• Learn and apply complex technologies and concepts relatively quickly
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience interviewing subject matter experts to understand and document complex technologies and systems
• Experience in writing documentation inside of raw specification files, for example Swagger or RAML
• Experience in using Bitbucket
• Previous experience working in an agile software development environment
• Experience leading projects
• Big picture thinker with laser focus.
• Expert relationship cultivator.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
• Prior experience in business analysis
• Active participation in IIBA, PMI, the Agile Alliance or other related organizations and certifications
