A leading food manufacturing company is seeking experienced Senior Maintenance Mechanics to join its team in Norwood, MA. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of electro-mechanical systems such as grinders, boilers, conveyors, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Multiple Shift Options:
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 6:00 AM
• Weekend Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM / 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Work with OEMs and manufacturers to maintain and improve machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Mentor junior mechanics and apprentices in troubleshooting techniques.
• Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed (MIG, TIG, Stick welding).
• Utilize CMMS to track maintenance activities and identify trends for process improvements.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment (meat processing, pet food, candy, etc.).
• Strong expertise in electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, PLCs, robotics, and automated packaging systems.
• Experience working with grinders, boilers, conveyors, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to operate and maintain process equipment such as pumps, valves, and meters.
• Certifications preferred: Ammonia Operator 1, EPA, MA Fireman 2 License.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) is a plus.
