PROJECT OVERVIEW
Requisition Title:
Senior Technology Architects for the Ontario Data Platform
Description:
The Ontario Data Platform (ODP) team is looking to hire Senior Technology Architects to work on projects
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Responsibilities:
Develops, recommends, implements and manages the technical architecture (hardware, software, database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with various stakeholders to understand and capture business, functional, and system requirements
- Develop the architecture and high-level design of data solutions
- Lead or assist in technology evaluations
- Support the creation of detailed designs and associated project plans
- Participate in projects as the architect supporting the team
- Lead or support data governance initiatives
Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant education, preferably in security, data, or AI
- 5+ years of experience as a data/technology architect
- Hands-on experience with modern data and security technologies, especially in the cloud
- Experience with data development tools and coding languages
- Advanced conceptualization and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with both Agile and traditional project management
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Comfortable working in an Agile, fast-paced, data-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems involving many stakeholders and clients
Evaluation (based on):
Data/Security Skills - 50%
Cloud Technology Skills - 50%
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (Candidates must meet all requirements below)
- Experience with OPS Architecture review process
- Solid Experience with cloud platforms and architecture
- Oracle database experience
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Prior Ontario Public Service (OPS) Experience.
