Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an opportunity available to join our incredible Road Network Optimisation team whose number one priority is to optimise the network to improve people and freight movement.
This role will optimise the integrated transport network to improve multi-modal network performance and make better use of transport resources to maximise efficiency on the existing network and assets.
You will:
Provide specialist technical input into transport policies, analysis and research, consultation and operational policy drafting, and political input and approvals and relevant standard engineering.
Drive outcomes using a mix of on-road technology and infrastructure improvements to ensure we are making the best use of AT's existing assets.
Take an active part in 'concept to detail design to delivery' for projects including project feasibility reports.
Ensure assessment and investigation reports including proposed designs and methodology comply with relevant standards.
Act as a project manager for engineering investigations, engineering solutions and capital works.
Ensure project managers/ consultants deliver projects on time, within budget and to required standards.
Demonstrate, deliver and to drive a customer centric performance orientation, consistent with the wider Auckland Transport Customer Service philosophy.

Ideally you will have:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Transportation engineering environment.
A relevant tertiary qualification related to engineering and planning - bachelor or diploma.
Background in traffic operations, planning and network performance principles and the ability to apply these in practice.
Good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements.
Excellent organisational and forward planning skills.
Ability to navigate through the complexities and meeting the agreed deadlines.
