Job Description
We are looking for a UI/UX Developer to join a collaborative and innovative team to create visually delightful and easy-to-use digital products in a fast-paced environment.
The UX Developer must have a solid understanding of graphic design and web technologies, and of wireframing tools such as Axure RP and Balsamiq. A good grasp of design programs and tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and InVision is also necessary. The UX Developer must have the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and a willingness to keep their skills and industry knowledge current. You must frequently work with UI/UX Developers, web developers and graphic Developers on the completion of projects and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
• You will be primarily responsible for the development of user journeys, platform front ends and other user interfaces to meet our business and customers needs
• You will be required to work with various business stakeholders to gather, understand and document requirements for interface development.
• You will be required to work closely with the Web development team to develop and optimize new and existing user interfaces
• Determining the structure and design of our platforms interfaces and user journeys.
• Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
• Developing features to enhance the user experience.
• Ensuring web design is optimized for mobile devices with responsive designs.
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability.
• Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages.
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout the design.
Key Skills
• 5+ years experience as a front-end developer.
• 5+ years experience as a UI/UX developer.
• Prior experience as a UI/UX Development as well as a strong portfolio of related projects
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
• Proficient in prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
• Expert knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS pre-processor tools.
• Understand server-side CSS.
• Be experienced with graphic design applications (e.g., Adobe Illustrator)
• Understand the principles of SEO
• You pay strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for aesthetics
• You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions
• A strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
• PHP frameworks, specifically Laravel, Cake PHP, CodeIgniter, Pyro CMS are essential
• Shopify, Magento, jQuery, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Prestashop, BigCommerce, Opencart, AngularJS, Twitter Bootstrap, Node.js are essential
• Comprehensive skills in theme development/customization, writing optimized and W3C valid codes, database management, working on APIs, XML/JSON parsing and plug-in development/ customization.
• Expertise in at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript, Ruby or PHP
• Experience with mock-up and UI prototyping tools
• Understanding of security practices
