Senior/Principal Backend Software Engineer (Java) and Immediate joiner
Location: Hybrid from Pune
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior/Principal Backend Software Engineer with strong QA expertise to join our SWAT team working on an urgent Klarna integration initiative. In this role, you will work closely with the product owner, area architect, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend solutions. Your work will directly impact over 11 million customers by improving one of Europe’s most successful pet e-commerce platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the product owner and team in an Agile environment to investigate, estimate, plan, and deliver backend solutions.
• Design, implement, and support backend solutions using microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Promote and implement test automation (unit tests, integration tests, e2e tests, and performance tests) and collaborate with QA CoP teams to maintain continuous validation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for development, testing, and deployment.
• Deploy and maintain applications on AWS, using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Conduct code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure a collaborative and high-quality development process.
• Continuously monitor and maintain existing applications, ensuring stability and reducing technical debt.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• 6+ years of experience with Java 11+ and the Spring framework.
• 3+ years of experience working within Agile practices and familiarity with Agile principles.
• Practical experience with TDD/BDD and a focus on automated testing across different levels (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Strong understanding of architectural principles and the ability to investigate and implement new features independently.
• Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices: container orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Kubernetes, Jenkins, AWS CloudWatch).
• Proven experience with Microservices and working with relational/non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Nice to have
• Understanding frontend technologies like React, NPM, Javascript, and Angular is a plus.
• AWS expertise
• Good understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns
• Modelling experience (UML, C4)
