Role
As a server, you will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and providing exceptional customer service to restaurant guests.
You will work closely with the kitchen and other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience.
This role requires a friendly and outgoing personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Greet and seat guests in a timely and friendly manner.
Present menus to guests, answer questions, and make recommendations regarding food and beverages.
Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the POS (Point of Sale) system.
Relay orders to the kitchen staff and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to tables.
Check food quality and presentation before serving it to guests.
Monitor tables and promptly attend to guest needs throughout their dining experience.
Prepare and deliver bills to guests and process payments accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
Upsell menu items, special promotions, and beverages to increase revenue.
Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate to management if necessary.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred but not always required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately take and process orders.
Basic math skills for handling payments and providing change.
Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including ingredients and preparation methods.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays of food or drinks.
Positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
