Job Description
We are currently looking for professional service bartenders this role is part time. This is to fill our busy events season coming up here at NeXT, Service bartenders make drinks for servers as well making drinks for events example Weddings and corporate events.
NeXT is open 7 days a week and is open for dinner service currently from from 5 pm to + pm. Our restaurant is very busy on Friday and Saturdays. Additionally we host banquet events weekly weddings and private events weekly, with a focus of these events vary in guest size from 30 to 120 guest.
Know all our banquet events are evening dinner based, this position will primary focus on Thursday to Saturdays. This is a perfect role, for candidates who are looking to supplement their existing income for the summer season.
YOUR COMPENSATION
Event servers can expect a hourly salary of between $28 to $32 per hour. this is based on a hourly rate of $18 per hour, and the remainder of your income coming from gratuity.
YOUR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Possess knowledge in making cocktails, example Martini's, Paper Planes, Negroni's
- Be smart serve certified (Mandatory)
- Be available Wednesday to Saturday weekly service.
- Possess experience in POS systems.
- Be able bodied, this position requires you to stand and move actively.
- This role is only open to Canadian citizens who reside within the Ottawa Region along with students who possess a visa that will allow them to work while studying here in Canada.
WHAT IS NeXT?
We are a 11,000 square foot facility located in west end of Ottawa, Stittsville, Ontario.
We offer the following services:
- Banquet & Event facility for up to 130 guests in up two 3 different rooms.
- 110 seat casual dining room featuring an eclectic a la carte menu, featuring some of Chef Blackie’s best food memories from his 30 plus year career.
- Take home catering, via our casual dining room menu.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with patrons and ensuring a positive experience.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Smart Serve standards.
Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions and manage cash handling.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and support food handling as needed.
Manage time effectively during busy shifts to meet customer demands.
