Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Plumber is required to identify, perform, and resolve all technical Service issues for Lar-Mex Inc customers on plumbing-related service calls.
• Selected candidate is required to join Local 71, United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the USA and Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems for various Lar-Mex Inc customers.
• Respond to after-hours emergency service calls, perform emergency repairs promptly, as per pre-established on-call schedule.
• Respond to, complete and document actions on all work orders as defined by the Dispatcher.
• Complete reports and document installations, testing, start-ups, etc.
• Complete the installation of plumbing components, equipment, and fixtures.
• Repair and assess various concerns regarding plumbing components of various buildings.
• Report all activities, and any instances of client dissatisfaction to the dispatcher in a timely manner.
• Request all required materials and equipment for repairs/installations/replacements from Lar-Mex designated suppliers.
• Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
• Communicate effectively with clients and assist with customers' queries.
• Conduct all repairs and installation as per building and trade codes.
• Keep all trades licenses valid and produce proof to the HR department.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Qualification and Education:
• Minimum 3 years’ plumbing experience.
• Journeyman or 3rd year level Apprentice.
• Hold valid trades licenses.
• Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Hold a valid Backflow licensing.
• Bilingualism is preferred but not required.
• Work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
• Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in plumbing and heating systems.
• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Display strong work ethic and punctual behaviors.
• Ability to troubleshoot various commercial grade equipment.
• Must have the ability to anticipate work needs and follow through on a given task with minimal direction.
• Display strong interpersonal skills.
• Responds to the needs of others using effective communication, mutual respect, and consistent follow through on each task.
• Must have the ability to work with patience and courtesy.
• Self-confident.
