POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Sheetmetal Trades Worker Trade assistant
PURPOSE
Installation of Mechanical Equipment and sheet metal.
LOCATION
The position will be based in Canberra ACT.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
White Card, Asbestos Awareness, working with asbestos, silica prevention and own Tools.
Willingness to learn and develop the skillset required.
Be reliable, self-motivated, have the ability and knowledge to read blueprints.
Possess good communication skills and be able to maintain a safe work area.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Installing a variety of equipment inc Fans, Units and other mechanical equipment.
section cutting to assemble commercial rigid air conditioning duct work / systems.
responsible for safe installation of the HVAC units.
have basic understanding of central air conditioning systems, gas and oil heating, hedonic heating systems, forced air heating systems, heat pumps.
studying drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements
selecting materials, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium and copper, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications

marking out and installing mechanical equipment with reference points and lines, using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments
cutting metal stock along guidelines using hand and power shears, guillotines and drill
may repair damaged sheetmetal products and components
may specialise in fabrication, or on-site assembly and installation, of sheetmetal products
assist in the installation of reverse cycle ducted air conditioning systems taking and applying proper field measurements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
Experience:
