Sheet Metal Mechanic Position
We are seeking skilled sheet metal mechanics to work at our Seattle, WA location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, and installing sheet metal parts made from sheet thicknesses up to 1/8 inch.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate templated parts for bending/shaping shipboard structures, frames, bulkheads, and brackets.
Assist with measurements, layout, and cutting of templates.
Operate hydraulic presses and automated roll presses for complex bends and cylindrical shapes.
Rivet and fasten panels and sheet metal structures.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
10+ years of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents, blueprints, and specifications.
Physical Demands:
Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
Occasionally carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Working on a ship with moderate noise levels.
Exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and confined spaces.
