Job Title: Shift Coordinator
Summary: Are you a proactive leader with a passion for chemical manufacturing? Polynt Composites USA Inc. is seeking a Shift Coordinator to oversee and manage production processes during assigned shifts at our Chatham, VA location. This role is crucial in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Essential Functions:
Leadership: Set the example for all personnel in terms of punctuality, attitude, and adherence to safety protocols.
Performance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures regarding safety, environmental, production, quality, housekeeping, and training.
Communication: Facilitate information transfer between shifts through supervisory exchange at shift turnover.
Documentation: Review batch cards, shipping paperwork, and receiving paperwork occurring on shift.
Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve process, production, safety/environmental, and quality issues.
Data Analysis: Compile, review, and analyze production-related data, including processing batch tickets and preparing BOL for bulk shipments.
Housekeeping: Inspect and ensure work areas meet the plant’s housekeeping expectations.
Safety and Compliance: Maintain safety, security, and environmental performance according to corporate and regulatory requirements.
Personnel Management: Initiate, recommend, and follow-up on personnel issues in accordance with company policy.
Quality Control: Ensure manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed and quality tests are properly performed.
Preventive Practices: Implement and maintain effective practices to prevent occupational injuries, illnesses, property damage, and health hazards.

3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct reports but assists in mentoring peers and other departments as needed.
Work Environment: This job operates in a chemical manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled. The role involves hands-on work in a potentially dirty and physically demanding setting. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
