Shop Hand Position
APX Services (Calgary) is looking for individuals that are both innovative and motivated by the opportunity of working in a shop environment wanting to get a chance to see what a Mechanics job looks like.
We have an immediate opening for a Shop Hand to join our mechanical team. Under the direction of our senior certified mechanics, the successful candidate will assist in a variety of duties which support our senior mechanics as they perform automotive and mechanical maintenance duties.
Duties
• Changing, repairing vehicle tires.
• Conduct basic vehicle preparation for servicing such as pressure washing equipment.
• Performing vehicle walk-around inspections and recognize challenges.
• Light mechanical duties such as equipment greasing and blade sharpening
• Assist mechanics in projects when needed (organizing tools, inventory, and parts pickup).
• Yard maintenance.
• Keeping the mechanical shop safe and clean for operations (periodic inspections).
Requirements and Qualifications
• Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work full time shifts 8-12 hours.
• Must have a valid driver license (Class 5) (drivers abstract will be required)

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
Schedule:
• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
