About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist II to join our team at L.S. Starrett Company. As a Machinist II, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate machines to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Inspect and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, inspectors, and management.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in machining and machine operation.
• Beginning to working knowledge of subject matter, including mathematical skills, blueprint reading, gaging knowledge, technical expertise, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform math calculations (shop math).
• Ability to change tooling and offsets, and make material changes to produce parts that meet print specifications.
