Job Description
This position will perform shipboard maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
General duties include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshooting and repairs on various systems such as diesel reduction propulsion and shafting, electrical generation, and distribution (AC and DC), fuel systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, plumbing (fresh and wastewater), navigation and communication equipment
General maintenance such as engine valve adjustments, oil and filter changes, topside corrosion control and repairs
Assist with pilot vessel haul-outs for inspections and repairs
Monitor and assist with maintaining inventory of spare consumables and components, both onboard vessels and in company shoreside storage.
Assist during inspections with USCG, ABS or other outside vendors and technicians for systems such as fire protection equipment, propulsion, etc.
Additional duties as assigned
In addition to regular hours, this is an on-call position which requires availability for vessel repairs outside of normal working hours, to include weekends and holidays, sometimes with short notice.
Occasional travel to remote ports may be required for troubleshooting and repairs or assisting vessel crews with general maintenance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Experience:
Diesel engine repair: 3 years (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
Ketchikan, AK 99901: Relocate before starting work (Required)
