Job Description
As a Show Control Technician, you will oversee all interactive show technologies across various ship venues, including testing, operating, and maintaining essential equipment such as show control, lighting, video projections, and special effects.
Your Responsibilities:
• Manage all interactive show technologies in venues, restaurants, and youth activity areas.
• Collaborate with the Show Control Technician Shipwide to maintain equipment for lighting, video projection, special effects, and pyrotechnics.
• Provide technical support across multiple shipwide activities, including lighting programming and camera operation.
• Set up and execute daily testing for show systems and assist with seamless show changeovers.
• Maintain inventory of pyrotechnics and manage their safe usage.
• Adapt performances and shows according to weather, safety needs, and technical requirements.
• Support various events, including equipment setups, installations, and cast events.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of three years experience in corporate AV, television, theatrical, or concert lighting.
• A diploma from a trade school, or comparable experience required.
• Proficient in programming and operating advanced lighting systems, including moving lights.
• Understanding of serial communications and IT network infrastructure.
• Experience transitioning performances via cue scripts.
• Knowledgeable about video projection systems and special effects in theater.
• Experienced with show control systems and digital lighting software.
• Familiar with computing networks and MIDI-controlled equipment.
• Ability to carry out hardware repairs and maintenance.
• Comfortable working at heights and handling heavy equipment in various environments.

This is a shipboard role. Candidates must:
• Be passionate about a career at sea and willing to work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
• Comply with safety roles and responsibilities as outlined in the ship Assembly Plan.
• Participate effectively in maintaining safety management responsibilities.
• Be prepared to share living quarters and appreciate a multicultural workplace with strict regulations.
Your Responsibilities:
• Hold a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa, which Disney Cruise Line will assist in obtaining.
• Undergo a pre-employment medical examination.
• Complete a criminal background check.
• Bring approved work shoes.
