Job Description
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and ED Attending (MD), the Trauma Technician assists the nursing staff in providing direct, indirect, and environmental tasks to a variety of patients who are accessing emergency services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
· Accepts and carries out assignments from Patient Care Coordinator/RN in consideration of unit
needs and as appropriate to clinical experience.
· Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients by assisting them into and out of
appropriate clothing.
· Monitors and records temperature, pulse, respiration’s, blood pressure, weights and blood
glucose monitoring in accordance with policy and procedure and documents accurately patient
status.
· Performs 12-lead EKG’s as directed and enters patient information correctly into the EKG system.
· Performs venipuncture for the purpose of drawing blood samples.
Licenseses and Certifications Required:
EMT
CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider
