SITE MERCHANT - FULL-TIME (40 HRS/WEEK)

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Site Merchant is responsible for driving the online product experience and ensuring that digital merchandising, navigation, and user journeys are intuitive, accessible, and conversion optimized. This role sits at the intersection of merchandising, UX/UI design, and digital performance. The incumbent will curate and manage product presentation, develop site taxonomy and content strategies, optimize the customer path-to-purchase, and partner closely with design, marketing, and product teams to create seamless, branded digital experiences.

LOCATION
This position is hybrid/remote. The incumbent will be required to report to our Headquarters, located at The Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba as directed.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Key Relationships: Marketing, Merchandising, Product Teams, external and internal stakeholders

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the digital merchandising strategy to ensure key products, categories, and campaigns are featured in an intuitive and visually engaging manner.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to refine site architecture, navigation, wireframes, and interactive elements.
Partner with Marketing, Creative, and Product teams to align seasonal stories, product launches, and campaign assets across the website.
Conduct regular UX audits to identify friction points and opportunities for optimization across desktop and mobile.
Manage product content quality—including imagery, copy, attributes, sizing, and metadata—to ensure accuracy and strong conversion.
Analyze site metrics, heatmaps, A/B tests, and behavioral data to optimize merchandising decisions and user flows.
Assist in the planning and execution of homepage updates, landing pages, product listing pages (PLPs), and product detail pages (PDPs).
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Professional Experience:
Minimum 4 years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, UX/UI digital content management in consumer goods, retail, or footwear is required
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite – including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop required
Experience with Shopify is preferred
Educational Requirements:
Post-secondary education is required
A university degree in visual arts with specialization in digital marketing, communications, business, or related field is an asset
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
