Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Site Remedial Carpenter to join our team at Riviera Prenail in Silverdale, Auckland. This full-time, permanent position involves working 45 hours a week, Monday - Friday (5.30am-3:00pm).
The primary responsibility of this role is site remedials, involving cutting and shaping various timber parts, including frames and trusses, ready for installation. Key duties include assembling pre-prepared timber, manufacturing panelized systems, and roof framing.
Candidates should possess carpentry experience from previous site work, demonstrating the ability to provide solutions and remedy frames and trusses. A minimum of 2 years of construction, joinery, or carpentry-related work experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Frames:
Pre-cutting framing components, materials, and wood joints (e.g., studs, nogs, lintels).
Cutting of soffit bearer and other items for completed framing.
Trenching of framing top and bottom plates.
Assembling and nailing together the cut and shaped parts/framing components efficiently using handheld nail guns, mechanical nailing machines, or a hammer.
Completing onsite remedials as required.
Trusses:
Pre-cutting truss components (e.g., truss cords, webs, sundries, rafters) using manual or computer-controlled automated systems.
Truss fabrication, including setup and pressing of Main and Jack trusses using rail jig systems or roller press systems.
Posi-Strut Fabrication, including setup and pressing of posi-struts using posi-strut jigs and pneumatic press.
Beam Fabrication, including setup and pressing or nailing of specially designed beams using hydraulic press or Hilti gun.
Completing onsite remedials as required.
