Job Description
Port Philip Boating Centre is seeking a skilled and motivated Small Engine Mechanic to join our growing team in Point Cook. This role involves working on a range of marine and small engine equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of vessels.
As part of our team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality mechanical services, supporting both maintenance operations and new vessel preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in small engines and marine equipment
- Disassemble engines and related components for inspection, repair, and servicing
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts and reassemble components to manufacturer standards
- Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tuning
- Test and adjust engines and mechanical systems to ensure proper operation
- Use diagnostic tools and computer-based systems to identify and resolve issues
- Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Assist with breakdown repairs and urgent service requirements when needed
Required Skills and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Marine Mechanics, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience as a mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Experience with marine engines (highly desirable but not essential)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $77,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
