Sme – Database Administration

Responsibilities:

- Strong proficiency in both RDBMS (MySQL) and NoSQL database (MongoDB) management
- Ever greening the database / servers with latest upgrades and patches in both MySQL and MongoDB
- Setup and maintain database schemas both on MySQL and MongoDB
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
- Design and development experience in building reusable REST API model / framework to consume data from and / or push data into MongoDB
- Data loading from various databases and various formats
- Maintain User identity and access to various components of Database
- Maintain data integrity across database(s)
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge.
- Stay abreast with new innovations and the latest technology trends and explore ways of leveraging these for improving the product in alignment with the business
• Technical Skills:

- Preferable:

- Minimum 3-4 years in MongoDB / PostgreSQL Development / administration in high performing scalable environment.
- Experience and understanding of government services, Safety & Mobility domains
- Must have skills:

- Extensive exposure to RDBMS databases like MySQL and NoSQL database like MongoDB
- Must have implemented at least two large MongoDB eco-systems
- Must have worked at least 5 years as RBBMS
- In-depth knowledge of modeling / architecture patterns, governance methodologies and potential limitations of MongoDB
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL / MongoDB and their workarounds in contrast to other popular databases
- Experience in data compression & back-up mechanisms
- Experience in creating the Database schemas & Maintenance of the same
- Experience in data Masking techniques
- Experience in scheduling the jobs to continuously refresh the data in real-time and near real-time
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL & MongoDB
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of MySQL/Enterprise DB features, such as its event scheduler
- Expert in operating systems like Linux, Ubuntu etc., including scripting & file systems
- Must have worked on MongoDB administration in Hadoop environment
- Experience in setting-up MongoDB based Data Lake and Data warehouse solutions
- Exposure working in Physical Data Center and Cloud platforms
- Experience in working on large volumes of data like Multi Peta bytes and variety of data
- Strong problem solving and logical skills & A Go-getter kind of attitude
• Additional Skills
- Shall have thorough working knowledge to translate RFP’s technical, functional & SLA requirements to BoQ
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Excellent problem solving and programming skills
- Proven technical leadership and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Understanding of Smart Communication Infra, Security and Surveillance - will be added advantage
- Ability to work under demanding project implementations.

Strong understanding and experience with DB replication strategies, tech, tools and implementation.

DB administration experience with user management, Data Migration, Performance Management, backup and Data recovery etc.

Good understanding and experience with Cloud infrastructure, for DB hosting, Managing and performance optimization for storage, transaction and network economics etc.
