We support Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Mauritius, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam sites.
The Opportunity:
The purpose of the role is to report in a timely and accurate manner, all material non-Global Markets FX (Foreign Exchange) positions in the bank to Global Markets and also transfer all material non-markets IR (Interest Rate) risk to Markets Treasury, which have the mandate to manage these risks accordingly.
Failure to do so exposes the bank to a serious risk of losses as transactions which could have been hedged at market rates are left open when exchange rates may move against the bank’s position.
This process is called the FX and IR buy-in process and the data download, report generation and reconciliation is prepared by the Position and Risk Transfer Control Analyst/SME on a daily basis.
A robust FX and IR buy-in process is especially important in times of market volatility.
What you’ll do:
• Manage the end-to-end process for all retail FX and IR buy-in process with a key focus on the IR process.
• Engage with senior stakeholders in ALCM
• Be able to perform roles of a Business Analyst and Project Manager
• Perform the daily analysis and reconciliations across TREATS (Treasury) and HUB (Retail) systems.
• Ensure that processes adhere to appropriate quality standards, with reference to internal and external compliance rules, and are comprehensively documented
Ensure that cover for running each process is adequate within the team by ongoing training and development of staff
• Ensure the quality of data inputs and FX / IR position is sound, through designing and implementing appropriate controls and checks.
• Communicate issues, root cause and potential options to remediate.
• Review risk reports before they are distributed to traders and dealers and ensure SLAs are being adhered
• Provide insight into opportunities to improve the process and controls in a changing regulatory environment
• Participate in user testing of system enhancements or changes to ensure impact on reconciliation and reports is as desired.
• Design & implement MIS reports to assist with more pro-active management of risk by front office and ops/risk managers.
• Collaborate and partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure end to end process is connected and streamlined.
• Maintain adequate effort to ensure proper reconciliation of notified deals and correct reporting of the non-notified positions.
• Maintain adequate efforts to ensure timely delivery and consolidation of FX and IR buy-in reports to FO and management.
• Ensure that issues are resolved before they bring material impact to the daily business
