The Role: Senior Data Engineer
As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and developing automated data pipelines that transform and enrich data, delivering valuable insights to stakeholders. You’ll also lead and mentor a high-performing team while staying at the forefront of technologies like Databricks, DBT, and AWS Redshift.
What You’ll Do:
Build Scalable Data Solutions: Develop data pipelines, engineering patterns, and end-to-end data solutions that drive business impact. Architect Data Models: Design, implement, and optimise data models using DBT and Databricks, working with Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball methodologies. Enhance Data Engineering Frameworks: Maintain and refine existing Python-based engineering patterns and DBT macros. Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with architects, engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive innovative data solutions. Mentor & Grow Talent: Guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence. Embed Best Practices: Champion data governance, security, and DevOps methodologies.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
✔ 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, ideally within enterprise-scale environments✔ Proficiency in Databricks, Python, PySpark, AWS Redshift, and DBT✔ Strong understanding of Data Vault 2.0, Kimball methodologies, and data modelling✔ Experience with Fivetran (a plus!)✔ A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving landscape✔ A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (DBT and Databricks certifications highly regarded)
