Apple News provides millions of users with trusted journalism from leading publishers around the globe. Editors at Apple News highlight the best and most engaging content across all platforms. You will make real-time decisions based on the day’s events, create content, write copy, communicate directly with our publisher partners, and oversee the team’s social-media strategy.
Description
Select articles and create assets for featuring on social media, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and context. Shape social-media strategy, including video, alongside key stakeholders. Forge relationships with publisher partners for collaborations on social media. Work with the Apple News design team on social-media deliverables and special-event coverage. Write sharp and engaging copy in the Apple News voice. Work with editors to ensure your work meets all aspects of our house style and standards. Work cross-functionally to support News projects and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years working in social media for a media company
Strong editorial judgment and excellent writing skills
Fluency in Photoshop and video-editing software
A keen sense of what works on social-media platforms and how to capture an audience’s attention
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
Ability to collaborate and work productively across a large organization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating and overseeing social-video strategy for a media company
Experience with covering breaking news and delivering clear, concise copy on deadline
Experience working cross-functionally with design, marketing, and engineering teams
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,300 and $242,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
