The Royal North Shore Hospital Social Work Department is seeking a permanent part-time Level 1/2 Social Worker (24 hours per week) to join our Women Family Emergency Care Team. This team provides a comprehensive and high level social work service across a range of clinical areas that requires a broad range of skills and knowledge within Royal North Shore Hospital.

What you'll be doing
Provide a high quality Social Work service to consumers, carers and families to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with NSLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics.
Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated social work experience in the social and emotional needs of children, young people, women and their families including impact of hospitalisation, bio-psychosocial issues within the perinatal period, child protection and domestic and family violence.
Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, counselling, crisis management, case management, advocacy, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
