Job Description
The Software Asset Management Operational Support Lead is vital for the effective execution of Software Asset Management (SAM) processes. This role focuses on the daily operational management of non-strategic software agreements and provides essential support for strategic supplier initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Operational Lead for Non-Strategic Agreements: Manage day-to-day operations for lower-risk software vendors, overseeing the software lifecycle including requests, approvals, and deployment tracking.
• Operational SAM Execution: Conduct daily SAM activities such as reconciliation of entitlement and installation, maintenance of software inventories, and management of license allocations.
• Support for Strategic Suppliers and Renewals: Collaborate with the Strategic Business Partner (SBP) to provide analytical support for strategic suppliers, including preparing data for renewals and license position assessments.
• Metrics and Documentation: Generate operational reports and maintain documentation to ensure compliance and enhance inventory accuracy.
• Compliance, Controls, and Audit Support: Assist in audits by preparing required documentation and implementing controls to mitigate software licensing risks.
• Continuous Improvement and Collaboration: Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize SAM processes.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience; or an associate's degree with 7 years; or a high school diploma with * years of experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management and familiarity with tools like Service Now or Flexera.
• Strong analytical skills and experience managing software licenses across multiple vendors.
• Ability to improve data quality and compliance within SAM processes.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Desired Characteristics:
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in large, global organizations and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-starter attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base pay range for this position is $112,000 - $186,000 annually. Specific pay offered may vary based on experience and qualifications. This role offers an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and retirement plans, along with various employee assistance programs.
