You will be part of the Modern Integration workstream which aims to take Business Architecture through to an Implementable Design. We are currently seeking an experienced Software Consultant to spearhead the design, solution architecture and strategic work for our modern integration and API platforms. This role is perfect for an individual who possesses a profound understanding of API and integration technologies and has a proven track record driving and leading end to end technical solution design for complex systems. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge tools and technologies and be part of a significantly impactful work for technology transformation for ASB.
Ngā Haepapa Matua ~ Key Responsibilities
API & Integration Platform Development: Contribute to designing and developing an API-driven PaaS solution, enabling seamless integration with internal systems and teams.
API Design & Architecture: Lead the design of APIs with a focus on Open API specifications, ensuring adherence to best practices in security, scalability, and performance.
Technical Analysis & Solution Design: Conduct in-depth requirement analysis and technical solution design, incorporating non-functional requirements such as security, extendibility, and maintainability.
Code Review & Best Practices: Evaluate existing codebases, ensure adherence to design principles, and provide guidance on improvements.
DevOps & CI/CD: Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure using Azure DevOps.
Technical Documentation & Standards: Develop high-quality technical documentation, naming conventions, and standards for API and integration solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training: Work closely with technical teams, influencing API design decisions, and mentoring developers on best practices.

What we are looking for,
Minimum 5+ years of experience leading technical design and/or providing deep technical expertise in API design, development, or solution architecture.
Strong experience in designing and developing APIs (HTTP, REST, etc) with a proven track record in API architecture.
Deep understanding of API security best practices, modern authentication mechanisms, and performance optimization.
In-depth experience with .NET and C# development, along with API design tools like Redocly and SwaggerHub.
Hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline setup, and automation, preferably with Azure DevOps.
Proficiency in GIT and best practices in source control management.
Expertise in technical analysis, requirement gathering, and solution architecture for APIs and integration platforms.
Technical Writing & Documentation: Ability to create clear and comprehensive technical documentation and design specifications.
Nice to have,
Experience working with banking, payments, lending, or Open Banking systems
Familiarity with Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN)
