The Amazon Device Software and Services Localization team is seeking a Software Development Engineer. You’ll work with the latest AWS and Machine Translation technology to design and build highly scalable systems responsible for providing localization to high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will take ownership over the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery and support software built natively in AWS. You’ll interact with our internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress. You’ll take ambiguous problems and build scalable system for data ingestion, validation, storage and translation.
Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, C#, and knowledge of Python or Perl
• Familiarity with professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations
• Experience on NAWS, Relational Database and Java/Python
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
