About Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cache Service
OCI Cache is a fully managed caching service, offering Redis and Valkey as a service on Oracle Cloud. A fast-growing service in production for 1.5 years, OCI Cache is a critical service in the data services portfolio at OCI and is rapidly scaling to support mission-critical workloads within Oracle as well as external OCI customers.
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (IC3), you will with elite engineers, solving scalability, performance, and reliability challenges for a service managing thousands of cache clusters across multiple tenants. If you have a deep understanding of Redis/caching internals, this is an exceptional opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud-based caching solutions.
What You'll Do
Solve complex performance and scalability challenges managing thousands of OCI Cache clusters across multiple tenants.
Leverage the latest advancements in Valkey to enhance OCI Cache and deliver cutting-edge caching capabilities to customers.
Design and implement scalable, high-performance microservices in Java and Python, optimizing cloud-native architectures.
Define and execute a charter for ongoing performance improvements and unique differentiators (USP) for OCI Cache beyond the open-source offerings.
Enhance observability, automation, and self-healing capabilities to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape OCI Cache's roadmap, architecture, and feature set.
What We're Looking For
6+ years of experience in developing and operating large-scale, cloud-based distributed systems.
Deep expertise in Redis/caching internals-including persistence, eviction, clustering, and performance optimizations along with a solid understanding of networking.
Proficiency in Java and Python, with experience designing and building microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
Strong system design and scalability skills, with a focus on multi-tenant cloud environments.
Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment models.
Solid understanding of networking, storage, and distributed computing principles.
