Speaking of change part of your role will be to participate in the fortnightly continuous improvement program helping the team raise their concerns or ideas for improvement.
Some of what you will do:
Create REST API solutions and supporting microservices direct to customers and the internal business utilising principles and best practices.
Promote use of shift-left, contract first and automation approaches to develop robust, high-quality software to meet the customer needs and in line with our development team standards and procedures.
Collaborate with your team members to build a culture of constant improvement and increased automation.
Maintain current knowledge of Microsoft, AWS and other development technologies used in the development of Freightways’ software applications.
Identify and promote opportunities to extend and enhance our solutions and development standards.
As we adapted DevOps practices, you will be part of the support team to ensure the health of our production environment.
Mentor and train others in your team and encourage a collaborative workspace for your peers to excel.
Give and receive honest constructive feedback.
What we're looking for:
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for technology and continuous improvement and enjoys acollaborative approach to software development. We also value someone who can share that knowledge andgrow other people in the team.
Excellent communications skills, comfortable discussing ideas with teammates, stakeholders and customers.
C#, .NET Core and software development best practices
AWS or other cloud services
Strong hands on experience and knowledge of REST API principles and best practices and practicalexperience
Microservices, containers, server-less technologies
SQL and NoSQL
Continuous integration and deployment practices
Building and monitoring scalable platforms
Experience in monitoring, logging practices, root cause analysis
A passion to explore and use new technology/approaches to solve problems
Familiarity with Test-Driven/Behaviour-Driven Development
Significant knowledge and understanding of the Scrum framework and the Agile principle.
