Responsibilities
You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate
In this role, you will understand database internals, encompassing areas such as data structures, query optimization, and storage engines
You will be essential to seamlessly integrate machine learning capabilities and algorithms with existing database technologies
You will be responsible for augmenting a nascent database product by developing innovative features that leverage machine learning and AI to enhance its overall performance
Also, you will optimize the database's quality, ensuring robustness and reliability, and improving its scalability to handle growing data volumes and user demands through the application of machine learning and AI techniques
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
Identify quality and scalability issues, propose and execute on large-scale improvements
Own all aspects of the development life-cycle for projects, from design, implementation, testing, monitoring, deployment, and enablement of customer-facing teams

• Experience designing and developing relational databases, database internals, query processing and query optimization.

Preferred qualifications:
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience in applying machine learning to systems.
• Experience with staying up-to-date on the latest machine learning research and technologies.
• Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test developing.
• Experience with performance analysis, debugging, and improving performance of distributed systems or low-level systems debugging.
• Understanding of common relational database use cases.
