The VMware Cloud infrastructure Business Group is seeking a SDET (Software Developer Engineer in Test) Automation Architect who loves working and automating complex problems and getting things done. You will architect, design and contribute to define and shape the first generation of SaaS Test Automation Framework. You will own and operate tools that support multiple clouds and those which will directly impact and improve developer productivity
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Within the first +0 days, you will start contributing to:
• Working within a distributed team to design, implement and integrate new and enhanced test framework features with the highest possible quality.
• Produce high quality, well-documented code. Participate and influence code reviews, design reviews for robust and scalable products.
• Work with architects and multiple SaaS services development teams.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle as part of a full stack scrum team.
• Provide detailed scheduled estimates for development efforts.
• Taking responsibility for the specification, design, implementation, testing and deployment of key product features
• Understanding how customers use our platform and ensuring all the use cases are tested before rolling out to production.
• Adopting new technologies and best practices.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
• 5+ Years of software development experience using Java, Spring Boot technologies
• Experience in building an extensible, config driven, pluggable and modular test automation framework
• 2-5 years of experience in open-source test frameworks like TestNG, JMeter, Locust
• Experience with micro service development, Kubernetes, Docker would be a significant plus.
• Hands on experience in developing performance test framework is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Familiarity with one or more CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Circle CI or similar.
