Nasdaq is now looking for a Software Developer Specialist - Java Developer to join the Risk Application Engineering team within Market Technology Product Engineering that develops and supports our post-trade product solutions. Nasdaq’s post trade solutions are used by high profiled exchanges and clearinghouses around the world, and we work in a fast pace international FinTech environment.

Your role and responsibilities:
As a Software Developer Specialist, your focus will be developing and implementing software solutions in a complex product with high requirements on performance and accuracy. You will work closely with Nasdaq teams in Sweden and Lithuania. You will also help and be mentoring your more junior colleagues.
• Develop and designs new complex functionality and maintain existing codebase in an environment handling large volumes of data and demands for high availability.
• Be part of a highly agile environment contribution to sprint planning sessions, daily stand ups and retrospectives.
• Interact with your scrum team and other stakeholders to fulfill the team goals.
• Improve our processes to help increasing efficiency.
• Support your team and our customers in their test activities.
We expect you to have:
• At least 6 years of experience as a Java Backend Developer.
• Excellent knowledge of Java
• Good knowledge of Java Script and experience working with React
• Excellent language skills in written and spoken English.
• A curious mindset and analytical skills, with a strong will and capability to learn.
• A strong Can-Do attitude and good team work skills.
• Abilities to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• A strong inner drive and motivation, thriving in a high pace environment.
• Interest in contributing to the culture of working in an agile environment.
• A Master or Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Systems, Financial mathematics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience.
It would be great if you:
• Experience building distributed systems
• Experience with GIT, Unix, Redhat and Jira
• Experience from FinTech industry, preferably in an international environment, will be considered meriting.
• An interest in financial markets / Experience from work in financial back office functions, primarily within derivatives, clearing and financial risk management.
• Interest in or experience from financial mathematics
