The Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to design and deliver innovative solutions that support ETS's evolving services. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle-from concept to deployment-bringing clarity, creativity, and care to every step.
This role blends technical expertise with collaboration. You'll partner with teams across ETS to build reliable systems, improve processes, and ensure our technology meets the needs of those we serve.
What You'll Do
• Define system scope and objectives for new and existing projects
• Design and develop full-stack applications using Python and modern frameworks
• Build scalable solutions in AWS cloud environments
• Write detailed specifications and perform coding, testing, and documentation
• Analyze and improve procedures to solve complex technical challenges
• Coordinate production schedules and ensure smooth software delivery
• Collaborate with teams across ETS to support new applications and updates
• Help train internal users when new tools or processes are introduced
• Lead peer reviews and guide quality assurance efforts
• Explore and implement emerging technologies and Agile methodologies
• Independently develop, test, and debug software
• Recommend process improvements based on system limitations and user needs
• Work across teams to identify gaps and escalate issues appropriately
• Maintain clear documentation for design, development, and testing
• Promote best practices and uphold quality standards
• Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements
Experience and Skills:
What You Bring
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with full-stack development
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development practices
• Experience with engineering standards, tools, and SDLC best practices
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Proficiency with Windows and Unix operating systems
• Creative problem-solving and technical strategy skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Commitment to delivering solutions that support ETS's mission
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Additional coursework in management or information processing is a plus
• 4+ years of progressive experience in software development
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are welcome
