Position Details:

Title: Software Developer_ Power Query Developer

Type: Contract-12+ Months

Location: Toronto, ON- Hybrid

Interview Process: Onsite round with white board session

Compensation: $75-$80/hour

Day to day responsibilities:

• Writing code delivering requirements

• Unit testing

Must haves:

• Software engineering i.e. Java background, Python or R, C#

• Goal to migrate tool from power query to power BI (tool written in M language)

• Should be able to write group functions by hand

• Writing the logic of the code.

• Design and development in M language from scratch.

• Software Development background - building applications and writing code from scratch

• Must have experience designing software or applications (can be small applications or small dashboards)

• OOPS concepts, business logic and clearly define algorithms

• Experience building scalable applications

• Basic SQL queries / Oracle queries

• Dealing with large data sets - relational database

• Experience building scalable applications

• Writing functions, data structures, algorithms - creative thinking

Pluses:

• Designing and writing code in another language, such as Java, but they only have a cursory familiarity with PowerBI is more valuable to me than a person who used PowerBI extensively but only in its graphical interface mode

• JQL nice to have

• M Language/ Power Query

• Oracle
